I bought this ipod about a year ago. It serves its purpose very well and is for the true music lover. It holds thousands of song (30,000 I believe) and it's battery lasts long too. It is slim and easily fits into your hand. The back however gets easily scratched. Nevertheless it's very durable and I'm certainly pleased with the ipod classic.

I bought this Ipod to replace another brand of mp3 player. I loved it... at first. 3 months later I had to take it in and get a replacement. This summer I load up my motorcycle and head on a 5000 mile trip through Canada (begining from home in Utah). With my replacement charged and freshly loaded from my itunes I was ready for a great trip! Think again. My ipod didn't even make it to the border. I hooked it to my laptop and I of course got the "unable to recognize your ipod" and had to reset it! ( to me this is the equivalent to the blue screen of death on windows 95) how frustrating. Anyway, after resetting I was able to reload and be good right? Nope! Now the damn thing wouldn't charge! YOU HAVE GOT TO BE KIDDING ME! oh yes I could hook it to my laptop and power it that way and still watch movies on my laptop but once I disconnect it it was dead. I ended up opening it and while I had it hooked to my computer I disconnected the battery and let it reset then it would charge. Once! everytime I needed to charge the battery this was what I had to do. (keep in mind my trip consisted of camping in the national forests.) at this point I really didn't care if I had just trashed $250 worth of electronics. My wife bought me a new 160g for Christmas. This one better not die on me!

Has worked great for almost 10 months now. It has frozen up 2 times (because of sudden falls) and after I have rebooted it, it has worked just fine. The quality of the sound is very good (I'm not a native english speaker and now I get much more than what I used to from songs and podcasts). I also bought a leather case with a foldable cover and a screen protector.
